French drivers Teddy and Jimmy Clairet will join the 2026 Kumho FIA TCR World Tour, competing at world touring car level for the first time after more than ten years on the periphery in Europe.
After finishing second and third in last year’s TCR Europe series, with Teddy only losing out on the title in a dead heat, with the trophy awarded on countback of second place finishes, the two drivers will step up and share the second ALM Motorsport Honda Civic, teaming up with their title rival from last year, Jenson Brickley.
“We are really happy to get the opportunity to step up to the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour,” said the two brothers. “We know it will be really hard, as it’s a late move, with very little preparation we are facing really strong competition, but as competitor, it was always what we wanted to do, to fight at the top level in TCR. When the opportunity came up we had to take it, on top of that we are super happy to share it together!”
The stints for the European events have been fixed, with Teddy driving at the season opener in Misano and then at Paul Ricard, while Jimmy will race the Civic at Valencia and Vila Real.
“We have to thank Rubén Fernández who did a great work with TCR Europe, and Marcello Lotti for the prize they’ve put together to be able to climb the ladder,” they added. “Without it, it couldn’t have been possible. We also have to thank ALM Motorsport, with whom we always had good relationship in the past. For sure they’ll help us to understand the Honda and put us in the best condition, they are really professional and it’s nice to be racing with them.”
